Do I have to use Stripe?▾
No, Stripe is completely optional. You can accept payments however works best for you: Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, cash at pickup, or anything else. Stripe is available if you want to offer online card payments, but you can run your entire storefront without it.
Is the free plan really free?▾
Yes. There is no monthly charge on the free plan. When a customer pays online through Stripe, a platform fee of 2% + 10¢ applies, plus Stripe's own processing fee of 2.9% + 30¢, both are deducted automatically from the transaction. If you collect payment offline, no fee is charged by Bakebutik.
How do my customers place an order?▾
You get a unique storefront link (bakebutik.com/s/your-name) to share anywhere: social media, text, email, wherever. Customers browse your items, add them to their cart, fill in their details, and submit. You see every order in your dashboard the moment it comes in.
How do I get paid through Stripe?▾
You connect a Stripe account from your payments dashboard. Stripe verifies your identity (standard for any payment processor) and then deposits customer payments directly into your bank account, typically within 2 business days.
Can I control when customers can order?▾
Yes. You can set available pickup time slots from your availability dashboard. Customers choose a slot at checkout. If you prefer to coordinate pickup directly, you can leave slots open and handle it over message.
What can I sell on Bakebutik?▾
Bakebutik is built for home-based food sellers. While the name nods to baking, you can sell any food items you make: baked goods, jams, sauces, snacks, meal prep, and more. Laws around cottage food and home food businesses vary by state and country, so make sure you understand the rules in your area before selling.

Yes. You can create percentage or fixed-amount discount codes from your dashboard, set expiry dates, and limit how many times each code can be used.
